Description

A gold metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 3/16 inch (3.02cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per chevron Celeste and Vert, a chevron conjoined with a demi-bordure Argent, surmounted in base with a targe Or, bearing an annulet of seven rivets of the last, charged with a fur tree eradicated throughout Proper; in chief two flintlock pistols chevronwise muzzles to chief Or. Attached below the shield, a green scroll inscribed STEADFAST GUARDIAN in gold


Symbolism

Green and gold are traditional colors for the Army Military Police. The chevrons represent Mount Rainer that is located in the Pacific Northwest the heritage of the unit and where it was formed. The yellow gold shield represents protection which is the core of all MP missions. The evergreen tree with three roots symbolizes the roots of the battalion formed at the base of Mount Rainier. The tree has nine points and three roots and combined with the shield stands for the 390th Military Police Battalion. The two flintlock pistols are symbols from the MP branch insignia.

CREST: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve: From a wreath Or (GoldenYellow) and Vert, the Lexington Minute Man Proper. The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

MOTTO: STEADFAST GUARDIAN.



Symbolism

SHIELD: Green and yellow are traditional colors of the Army Military Police. The hydra is a symbol for evil, which is what the MP Corps works to contain in all missions.The surrounding spears represents the regiments mission to contain evil. The three heads of the hydra combined with the nine demi-spears, and the circular tail together represent the 390th Military Police Battalion. The motto STEADFAST GUARDIAN exemplifies the units diligence to their mission.
